What am I doing wrong on my snowboard?
I can ride the front edge just fine, but when I carve around to the back edge, the tail of the board pushes out in front and I wind up going backwards (tail first). I can then ride it tail first on the back edge just fine, but if I try to ride the back edge the right way, I can’t keep it straight.
Well as a snowboard instructor i would need to watch your Forum to se what is really wrong. But maybe in most cases you are trying to get back onto your heel edge to fast so you loose con-troll of that edge and you spin right back around. Try making more gradual turns off your toe edge and then get the feel of it. Then you can try Sharp maneuvers of your toe edge.

Too many variables to be sure. You’ve described the problem fine, but where are your feet positioned relative to the center of the board and at what angles? Without adequate info, sounds like a weight distribution problem (think about it like this – the point of the board that has the most downward pressure at any moment in time is where the board will pivot from). Most likely, you’re keeping too much weight/pressure on your dominant foot. Experiment with small changes – angle/position of your rear foot; weight side to side; forward/rear lean. Most of all just practice, you’ll figure out what works best for you over time.

what you are doing is putting too much pressure on one foot. I see this happen alot when im teaching. What you want to do is once you are on completly on one edge, stop rotating your shoulders. Just keep it kinda adjacent to the slope.

could have your front knee bent too much causing the rudder effect to happen quickly ( back end swinging around)
might be your heelside edge near the tail is dull which is very possible
could be your heelside edge on the nose thats dull
and or: youre turning slow and your weight is on the back foot causing it to gradually get in front of the front foot due to gravity
another factor is the angle of the edge at the rear foot compared to the front foot, the board flexs torsionally and the one with less grip will begin to go down the hill
to me it sounds like a dull edge

it might be not enough pressure tht was my problem
