Fun tricks to do on a snowboard?
im going up tomorow and want to know some fun tricks to try.
I can do any grab imaginable and can grind like heck. I am pretty good at snowboarding
If you’re so good, why are asking people on yahoo for cool tricks? Shouldn’t you already have some in your head?
If you are as good as you say you are, why don’t you do a double backflip 180, Travis Rice style? That would be cool.
Then film it and put it up on youtube. Then enter the X-games while you are at it.
But how are you so good, but can’t ride switch? Weird….
Seriously, if I had a dollar for everytime I have heard someone talk themselves up and then not be able to back their sh*t up, well, I guess I would have enough money to take that heliriding trip to Alaska I’ve been wanting to take!
Dude, don’t be one of those guys.
As for your question, blunt stalls always look stylish and cool, and are easy to do. And you can do them on anything. Check out www.transworldsnowboarding.com for a how-to.
2 commentsI am thinking about learning to snowboard!?
I am twenty nine and just moved to Colorado. Last year I tried skiing..towards the end of the season I was just starting to get the hang of it (I went to copper mnt. twice).
Now this year my bf is telling me to give it up and try snowboarding. He snowboards, my son snowboards and they tell me it’s a lot easier. I had always thought it was hard!!!!
Anyway my question is…would it be better for me to just continue learning how to ski..before I take on snowboarding? Or just put in my first tough day get it over with and learn how to board. I would love to learn how to board but I’d really like to know how to ski too! Especially since I feel like I am getting close to being able to ride smoothly.
So which one should I choose this winter?
snowboarding is harder, but more rewarding & a better workout & way cooler. the president of aspen ski club said that he hasn’t been on skis since he learned to board. try it, it’s fun. the first few times u do it, u’ll spend alot of time on ur butt. wear lots of padding. the first 2 times i tried it myself, then the 3rd i got lessons. it’s my 4th season this year & i’m already doing jumps & learning new tricks. be preparred to feel like u’ve been in an accident afterwards the first season is tough, but once u get the hang of it. it’s the funnest thing u’ll ever do, i’m boarderline obsessed with it.
How do I control my speed on a snowboard!?
Is it true you control speed by applying pressure by your back foot? Any advice would be great, i need to stop flying down the slope.
carve harder the harder you push on your heals or toes causes the board to dig into the snow more slowing you down more.
but honesty if your learning (which im assuming you are) the more speed the eaiser it is to not fall even though it does hurt more because you can catch an edge and fall very easily if you are going slow
good luck
What is the difference between sliding and carving in snowboarding?
I need to know what I am doing currently. If someone is sliding, how do they progress to carving? By going faster?
sliding is going down the hill on your edge and your pushing snow with your board. Carving is digging your edge into the snow and making a cut. I’ve always said that the key to learning how to carve is to practice your edge control by sliding on your heel and toe edge equally. Once you’ve progressed try to link your heel and toe edges. eventually it should come together and you’ll start carving. also ask other riders for tips on the slopes most are willing to help. balance is also key to staying on your edge.
Someone told me you only use your shoulders to turn in snowboarding. So you don’t use your legs at all?
Never done snowboarding by the way but I got all my gear and ready to go =)
Reviewing the answers that you have so far should tell you that you can’t learn how to snowboard from the Internet! Your friend is partly right… and many of the other answers to your question are also partly right. The whole story of how to turn your snowboard is too long to get into on Yahoo answers!
Take a lesson from a certified instructor. You will see all the skills and motions needed to get that snowboard to turn.

Does anyone have tips for getting 1000 on the snowboard game on Millsberry? I can never get more than 600.?
Also, where is the chip the wolf grabbing machine? I can’t find it with the new layout.
You can find the gabbing machine by going to town hall, click on the "historical society" the story was printed on 6/15/2006. Click on the story and you’ll see the link to the machine. (i’d put it in your shortcuts so you don’t have to do all that again)
You can unlock kelly on the snowboarding game if you health and your fitness is at 100%. She earns more points on the flips than the other characters. Make sure to do flips off the snow ramps for extra points!

I want to learn how to snowboard and want some advice?
Hi, I want to learn how to snowboard. I dont really know that much about but it has been something i have always wanted to do and i was think i should probably learn soon if i ever want to (im in grade 10). What are the best brands of snowboards and boots and all that stuff and how would you recommend going about trying this new sport out? thanks, as much advice as possible!
I would either do a season rental for the first year so that you can learn what you like and what you don’t.
When you are ready to buy, look for a pre-season or a post-season sale. It is common for snowboarding equiment to be marked down more than 50% when buying previous season gear. Do you have a Sports Authority near you? They have gread deals at their pre-season Sniagrab sale.
I knew that I would like it so I took the plunge and got entry level gear from the start and took lessons. There are many brands that have intermediate models that you can learn on and "grow" into – Ride Control and Ride EX bindings are what I would suggest but K2, Burton, Rossi, etc. all make nice intro boards. I would spend the extra few dollars and stay away from the Morrow and other low end boards.
Look for a board that has a nice flex and pop – and isn’t too stiff. You will be able to ride it for years and by the time you are heavier for a bigger board you will be ready for an intermediate model.
Good Luck
5 commentsDid Joyride go out of business or stop making snowboards?
They went out of business awhile ago, nearly ten years if I remember correctly. I don’t know if they just closed their doors or merged with another company and are now making boards under a different name. In either case, Joyride definitely no longer exists.
